Our Story started with a simple question...

Seaweed farming is great, but how are the wild seaweed forests doing?

2009

Timeline Image
The founder of SeaForester started the first seaweed cultivation company in Norway (Seaweed Solutions AS).
He saw first hand all the positive impact seaweed farming had on the local environment.

2016

Later, he, other volunteers and advisors turned their attention to the rapidly disappearing wild seaweed forests around the world.
This was the beginning of the SeaForester initiative in Portugal that has since developed into an organisation with an international network of partners and projects.

2021

Timeline Image
We established our seaweed nursery in Peniche and have since demonstrated the success of our seeded stones in replanting seaweed forests.
